Child Support Attorneys of the Greater Cincinnati Area

Generally speaking, if a child lives with only one parent, then the noncustodial parent is required to pay child support. How much is determined by the combined monthly adjusted parental gross income listed in the child support guideline table, with the minimum being $60.

How Is Combined Monthly Adjust Parental Gross Income Calculated?

The combined adjusted gross income is the gross incomes of both parents minus:

  • The amount of any pre-existing orders for prior spouses
  • The amount of any pre-existing orders for prior-born children
  • Support for any prior-born children for which a parent is legally responsible and providing support

What If My Income Is Above The Kentucky Child Support Guidelines?

The courts will typically determine what the reasonable needs of the child or children are in these instances. “Reasonable needs” can take into account such factors as previous standards of living.
